What are the main types of doors we have?
Essentially we have two types – exterior and interior doors. Exterior doors are the sentinels for our home, protecting us from elements and violent attacks from both animals and humans. Interior doors are multifunctional. They provide us privacy while we are in our own space – like in bathrooms, dressing rooms etc. French doors and patio doors are doors that allow you to visit garden, patios etc

Characteristics of exterior doors
Exterior doors need to be well-built, strong, weather-tight, and sturdy so that they can stand up to 24/7 weather exposure, with excellent door hardware and locks. They are tested for weather-tightness. All front doors, back doors, French doors, patio doors and the glass sliders are exterior doors and need to be well-built, sturdy and weather-tight.

Patio doors protects your home
Patio doors are accent additions to your home – bringing you closer to your garden and letting in more light and air. A patio door is also called an arcadia door. It is mostly made of glass. There is an option to fit a removable metal mesh screen so flying insects or creepy crawlies do not enter your home. The glass can be slid open or fixed with hinges.

French doors – wide open fashionable gateway to garden
French doors – also called French windows – are mostly a matching pair, series or sometimes a single door consisting of panels, translucent or transparent, within a wooden or a metal frame. With necessary seals with weather strips for water tightness, they let light in sufficiently. There are options with retractable mesh screens, stained glass designed panels, energy efficient panels and more!

How good are interior doors?
Doors in-between rooms, bathroom doors, shower doors, wardrobe doors etc are examples of interior doors. Though they need not be as sturdy, they must be well-built. Today with advanced technology, wardrobe, shelf doors have light/motion sensors fixed so that when you open a shelf/cabinet, automatically light gets switched on.

Shower doors – protect from moisture
Framed or no-frame shower doors, swinging steam-shower doors, customized steam-shower door are some options you can have for your shower cabins. And some glass options fitted to shower doors are clear glass, extra clear, tinted glass, frosted glass and patterned glass. The bathroom walls, flooring, and furniture get protection from moisture with shower doors.
