This very stylish and trendy pool house designed by Hariri & Hariri in 2007 conforms to the modern minimalistic style. The conspicuous feature of this 1200 square foot pool house called the Wilton poolhouse is a covered verandah which provides a pleasant area below for al fresco entertaining and dining. The poolhouse is characterized by the long angular archway that spans the length of the pool. The frame of this archway is made from Brazilian wood and needless to say, this is the most striking feature of the house. A series of glass and metal sliding panels enclose the house so that the entire house is transparent from the outside. The house overlooks a beautiful 48′ x 20′ pool and is flanked in the Northern part by a spa area with outdoor and indoor showers. The total Pool house area is 1,200 square feet excluding 3,630 sq ft the pool and the stone terrace. This poolhouse is undoubtedly striking in appearance and you can’t pass it by without giving it a second glance.

The Wilton Poolhouse is a part of a 3.5 acre property of a suburban Connecticut residence and its minimalistic style is the other extreme from the traditional style of the existing house. The interiors comprise of a living / entertainment room, kitchen and bar area, bedroom and a variety of terraces and decks. The wood floors of the house extend beyond the interiors of the home to create a hovering deck above the pool to create relaxing space to lounge above the surface of the water. Dipping your toes in the water with your favourite drink and a book in the company of your friends would be a great way to pass the weekend.

The underlying feature of the minimalistic style is bare essentials and no clutter. The exterior should be characterized by plain window treatments, plain patterns and subdued colors which are all evident in this wooden house by Hariri & Hariri. Maybe this house will not appeal to those of the old school with a conservative outlook who would prefer a more traditional home. This house after all has a very young and modern ambiance; the entire atmosphere is very conducive to entertaining and hosting parties. Hariri & Hariri was established in 1986 by two Iranian born sisters who have achieved international acclaim for their very poetic yet provocative designs. Their firm’s blend of striking forms, digital technology, innovative materials and social agenda has carved a unique space for them in the architectural arena.
