Low budget modern homes can be a boon for many aspiring house owners who have a tight budget. These are contemporary small homes – small houses with less floor area. It can be an apartment – small in size but with all conveniences. If you have a large size garage or barn like structure, you can convert it into a loft home with a modern home design with low budget.

There is a misconception that low budget homes may be cheaply built shabby looking small houses. People sometimes think that low budget small homes are constructed with substandard and poor quality materials and compromised on safety factors, and they may not be good investment options. But it is not true. Low budget is achieved more by managing the resources optimally and using innovative and ingenious techniques to get a beautiful, elegant and modern small house. Contemporary low budget modern homes use indigenous materials for construction as an effective green building principle. Instead of using burnt bricks everywhere, local soil cement/concrete blocks are used and this can result in a good amount of saving. Also interior walls can be thinner than the exterior walls. Hollow concrete blocks can be used as they are more energy efficient than solid brick walls.

Using more glass and synthetic materials like fiberglass, acrylic for interior doors, windows, patio doors, cabinet doors and shelves can be more economical and aesthetically beautiful also. If solid wood is used for doors and windows, it can be a very expensive option. Likewise floorings also can be laminated synthetic tiles instead of original marble or granite.
Going green can be a very good option for optimizing your energy expenditure. With so many appliances and gadgets and central interior air conditioning, the actual energy expenses may get exorbitantly high. Saving on energy used in your home and using less water in plumbing and washing can result in a lower monthly maintenance cost.

Here you can see images of a low budget contemporary modern small home designed by Pb Elemental Architecture. This is an aesthetically planned beautiful looking house built on just about 1600 sq.ft. But the interiors flow in a smooth design resulting in a more spacious looking home. Tall, floor to ceiling glass windows and floating tread stairs and open floor plan make the house perfect example of low budget contemporary modern house.
